Jomsom is a beautiful town that lies at the altitude of 2700m extending over both the banks of Kali Gandaki River. The main ethnic group in this village includes Magar, Thakali, Tibetan, Gurung etc. Jomsom airport makes the access easier for the travelers. Jomsom is considered to be the village that is inspired by Tibetans comprising prayer wheels, Buddhist monastries and Chhortens. Pilgrims from different corners of world pays a visit for different purposes. Normally Jomson/Muktinath trek is popular and is suitable for people with altitude problem. Muktinath in literal terms refers to "place of salvation' and has its religious importance. Tiny in outlay but containing a human sized golden statue of Vishnu, Muktinath temple contains bronze images of different Goddesses.It lies at an alittude of 3710m at the bottom of Thorong la pass. This idolized sacred place is major religious attraction of Annapurna circuit. The central shrine of Muktinath is stated as one of the eight most sacred shrines from Hindu Vaishnavas known as Svayam.The route roams through different range of climates. Not only the particular destination but the entire route offers a breathtaking view.
