Mardi Himal Trek is newly opened popular trek in the Annapurna region. It is located to the east of the Annapurna Base camp virtually under the spectacular Machhapuchhare(Fishtail). This trek is the best destination to avoid the crowd. The trek goes through quiet stone built villages past wonderful rhododendron forests blooming in many different colours. The forest path continues until about 3,300m. On the way you can see astonishing mountain views and landscape. When the trail takes on a rugged mountains setting with spectacular views of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre and Annapurna south. There are simple guesthouses and Homestays along the entire route. The trail takes you to a very close distance of Mount Macchchapuchhre. The Mardi Himal provides everything like a local cultural experience, beautiful forests, hilly terrain, and panoramic views similar to classic Nepali trek.

Mardi Himal Trek can be completed between 4-7 days depending on your requirement.

Detail itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel 

On the first day we will be there to greet you with our traditional khata and the fresh flower. Our staff will drop you to the hotel where you can take rest and feel good for the new journey. Will see you next morning.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing and preparation for the Tour 

After having breakfast, our staff will be there to pick you to the head office where you can meet trekking guide and he will let you know about the trekking routes, activities and destinations along with schedule of the time period. If you have any confusion, then you can directly ask to the guide. 

After that our staff will take you for the sight-seeing of history palace, religion place etc. Some of the places were listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site. For instance; Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Swyambhunath and so on. After completing our today’s program will see you early in the morning. 

Note: Before going to the bed please check your trekking equipment and the important documents so that journey will be fruitful. 

Day 3: Drive to pokahara and trek to Dhampus 8 hours drive

On the third day we will drive to pokhara and trek to Dhampus with the help of local buses. After we reach to Pokhara we will drive to Phedi. On the way of Phedi we will have breakfaskkkt and lunch. From Pedi we will start our trek and it takes 2 hours to reach Dhampus Phedi. We will stay at hotel of Dhampus Phedi.

Day 4:  Phedi to Forest camp (3150m) Duration –five hours

 After your breakfast at, we will do the hotel; we will start our journey to Forest camp. After walking three hours from Dhampus, we will be in Deurali. We will have lunch there. After Lunch, our trails pass through the forests of Rhododendron, oak, Maple, and Hemlock. We will stay overnight there.

Day 5: Trek to Badak Danda

From the forests to Low camp, trekking passing more jungle with a superb of Annapurna south before getting into low camp. After one and half hour walk from forests camp, we will be at Badak Danda. There are about four teahouses in Badal danda, but they are very simple. From Ddanda, we leave the three lines and arrive in the shrubby alpine zone.

Day 6: Trek to High Camp

In this day we will wake up early and have our breakfast. After our breakfast we begin our trail. After Badal Danda, the trail breaks out above the tree line and towards the west. From there we can see good views of Annapurana south and Hinchuli. On the way of High camp, we can see the national bird of Nepal called Daphne. Overnight the lodge of high camp is larger than the lodge of at low camp and forest camp, this one has eight rooms and a separate dining room with heater. The view from the lodge is superb to Annapurna south, Hinchuli and Machhapuchhre. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 7: Trek to Mardi Himal Base camp and trek to Low Camp (4250 m) Duration-6 hours

The day started early with a cold frost covering. The impressive mountainous view form high camp was slowly replaced by the rocky tundra along the ridge ahead. We hike along narrow way before reaching the upper viewpoint. We will see Mardi himal(7219m), Hiunchuli(6441), Annapurna l (8091m),Barahara shikhar (Annapurna Fang) (7647m),Tent peak (5695 m), Sinchuli(6501m)and more others . We Trek back to High camp for an overnight stay. After around three and a half hours we will reach to Mardi base camp where one can see Annapurna range and the Panaorama view of Annapurna south, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre and other mountains of Annapurna.

Day8: Trek to Lumre and Drive to Pokhara -5 hours walking and 2 hours driving

From low camp to siding is steep down trail. It takes approx. three hours to reach siding from low camp Hotel. From Siding to Lumre is easy way because the trekking trail is the road which takes about two hokurs to reach there. On the way to Lumre, we will see the beautiful waterfall and landscape. From lumre we can use transportation according to our choices to reach pokhara. Overnight at hotel of Pokhara.

 Day 8: Farewell

Today you will say goodbye to the soul Himalayan treks and tour. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. A representative from soul Himalayan treks will take to the airport approximately 3 hours scheduled flight.

  • Baseball head (cap) it is useful for sun during the hiking.
  • Warm woolen hat-1 it is very useful evening and morning when we hike above the 3500m.
  • Flash light or head torch-1 head light is best as it leaves your hand freehand extra batteries
  • Personal first aid kit -1 include any prescribed medication (should be your all personal medication).
  • Travel towel-1 light weight and compact.

Detail Itinerary
