We strongly advise that you register at your country’s national embassy or honorary consulate when first arriving in Nepal. This can be beneficial in case of sickness or emergencies.The currency of Nepal is called the Nepalese Rupees (NRs.). Check the latest foreign exchange rate to get an estimation of the value of your cash here in Nepal. It would be advisable to ensure that you have some cash with you at all times and not be too dependent on credit cards.  The use of credit cards is not widespread on trekking routes and outside of the major tourist areas.It's also advisable to use mineral water to brush your teeth or for washing your face. Tap water in some hotels and guest houses cannot be completely relied upon in Nepal.If you have an allergy or special food requirements due to health, please inform us beforehand. We also advise that you bring along your own medications as some medicines may not be available or difficult to obtain.

Visas are available on arrival at the international airport in Kathmandu and at all land border crossings open to foreigners. You are required to carry passport photos and can pay the visa fee in foreign currency (some crossings insist on payment in US dollars). Your passport must be valid for at least six months and you will need a whole free page for your visa.You can also get  your visa from the consulate in your home country. A tourist visa shall be granted for a period of a maximum of 150 days in a calendar year. On Arrival Visa Fee is 15 Days – 25 USD; 30 Days – 40 USD; 90 Days – 100 USD. you can  fill the online visa directly to the Nepal immigration website also. • There are three options for applying for your visa

Apply online for a tourist visa on the website: https://online.nepalimmigration.gov.np/tourist-visa Keep in mind that this application is valid only for 15 days. You must complete and print it. 

Once you reach the airport you will have to pay for your visa at the bank counter and obtain your visa validated at the immigration desk. With ATM, at your arrival at Kathmandu airport: You will need to fill in the necessary information and then go to the bank counter to pay your visa and obtain your visa validated at the immigration desk. With a paper form, at your arrival at Katmandu airport that you find at the reception: For this, you must have a photo identity. We recommend this method because it will allow you to save your time on arrival (considering that there will be many people to make the request via the automatic machines) then proceed to the bank counter to pay your visa and obtain your visa validated at the immigration desk. Your visa can be paid in euros at the bank counter according to the exchange rate of the day at the airport.

If immunizations or vaccinations are deemed necessary, they should be administered at least 6 weeks before arrival. It is imperative to maintain valid health insurance throughout the entire duration of your journey. Carry an ample supply of prescribed medication, considering potential challenges in sourcing specific medicines locally. As our activities involve walking and volunteering in rural communities, it is essential to be well-prepared with all required vaccines.
